Description
Step back in time into an ancient woodland inhabited by extinct creatures to experience some of Ireland’s ancient lost wildlife. Walk among the ancient trees and encounter Bears, Wolves, Lynx and Monkeys on your journey through the past. ‘Wild Ireland’ is located on the Wild Atlantic Way and is the newest and most exciting visitor attraction in the North West of Ireland. Just a few centuries ago, Ireland was clothed in a thick blanket of Temperate Celtic Rainforest. Due to destruction and deforestation, this woodland has all but disappeared, in a small pocket of remaining woodland on the Inishowen peninsula, the hands of time have been rolled back to an era were ferocious beasts ruled the Irish countryside. Come see our Brown bears, European Wolves and Lynx back together in the Irish forest for the first time in thousands of years. Here they live in their natural habitat in the temperate rainforest. Lots of wild birds call our beautiful lake at Wild Ireland their home

wolves
Could have spend all Day in Wild Ireland just watching the Wolves at play & resting.
They were bigger than I Imagined Beautiful Animals.

Great day out, highly recommend!
Recently visited wild ireland. We booked the 11 to 1 slot which wasn’t too busy. The park is set up with a one way system which helps the flow of people.
The set up is great and laid back. Main animals include monkeys, bears, wolves, Arctic fox, snowy owl, mink, otter

I see what they’re trying to do...
I had been intending to visit for a long time and I was very excited to get there. Sadly, I was disappointed. As my title line says "I see what they’re trying to do".
Like some other reviewers, I found it worrying that the animals (particularly Arctic Fox. Lynx & Wolves) were pacing and I have to agree that some of the enclosures aren’t very generous with room for the animals concerned.
I’ve also read a reply from Wild Ireland stating that these animals cannot be rehabilitated for release...so I’m hoping that as the finances grow, so do the enclosures.

Put this on your bucket list for Donegal
This is a must do if you visit Donegal. A wonderful sanctuary for the animals, you will be treated to a special morning or afternoon wandering the beautiful surroundings and seeing all the different animals. Among the highlight for me was the bears, wolves, otter, goats, artic foxes and snow owls.

Amazing trip to Wild Ireland
Had a lovely time walking round this wildlife park. Lots of interesting animals that you can see up close easily. Strolling at a leisurely place and really watching the animals meant we spent just over two hours here which was a good amount of time. The park rangers were super friendly and gave us plenty of information about the animals and their habits so do ask them questions as this enhanced our visit for sure. Would definitely recommend. Keep up the amazing rescue work

Great visit
Wild Ireland is definitely worth a visit. There are some very narrow roads leading to it but once you get there, it’s worth it. There is a great selection of animals and birds to see but let’s face it, the highlights are the wolves, bears and lynx. The wolves are amazing and the bears are just unreal. The lynx could not be seen on the day we visited. There is a small playground and a little area to sit. The gift shop is nice, a little expensive but when you see what the owner has done here, you can’t complain. I do think an hour will be more than enough time here but for 12e entry, which is very reasonable, and if anyone has seen the documentary about this place and the work the owner put in? He deserves support. I will never forget the bears and wolves.
