A great service. Short, and inexpensive if you get the multiple travel ticket Highly recommend if you are staying on the island and travelling off it during the week.

Fast
We really were impressed by this little ferry. No queues more than 10 min. Crossing time to caherciveen is a fast 5 min saving you 25 min driving time. And at only €8.00 one way or €12.00 return it’s well worth it

Great way to get on and off the Island
We came to Valentia on the ferry. Paid for a round trip, as we only had three days on the island. The trips are frequent, the ferrymen are friendly. And you can get a return trip without the car, which we did to go to a restaurant in Cahersiveen one night. Trip is quick, and saves a lot of time getting on to the main land.

Wonderful
The definitely worth taking a trip on the ferry the cost of the ferry trip for one week is far cheaper then paying per day cost for on week was 25 Euros. You can pay 8euros per day very friendly and helpful staff .

Pretty Little Ferry to Shorten Your Trip to Valentia Island
If you are doing the Ring of Kerry, and want to go through Valentia Island, use this ferry on the east side of the island. On the south side you can use a bridge. This ferry prevents you from having to double back on your track. It won’t take long -- far less than a mile distance.

Watch your change
It was easy to get on and not a big queue when we got there. However, we were short changed. It was 8 Euor and we tendered 2x 5 Euro notes. We got a receipt and then the male attendant walked off pretty fast. Only 2 minutes later did we realise we had no change. There was no point getting out of the car and confronting the man as we had no evidence. He had given us a receipt saying fee 8 Euro paid 8 Euro Change nil.

Great little ferry
This ferry’s turnaround is fast, and crossing quick - perhaps not cheap at €8 - but what’s not to like about it - a great shortcut.
