I highly recommend Turas Eireann. Dermot is the absolute best!! He gives you his input and ideas to provide the best itinerary possible for your time in Ireland. I think he made our visit to Ireland even more special as makes you feel like a friend. He is an amazing driver and can certainly handle any weather conditions imaginable. I cannot wait for my next trip to Ireland and new adventures with Turas Eireann and Dermot!!

We (6 friends and family) recently took an 8 day tour of Ireland, and decided to hire a small group tour guide and driver. Hiring Dermot was the best decision we made. He was knowledgeable, fun, flexible, and an excellent source of advice as we made our way around Ireland. Small group touring is an affordable luxury. We were able to see so much more with absolutely no hassle, including major sights, and many off the beaten path. The value added to our experience was substantial. Highly recommend Dermot and Turas Eireann for your trip.

We were so fortunate to have found Dermot, our fun-loving personal driver. He was happy to help us in any way and offered great advice on our travel plans. The best part was not having to drive as soon as we arrived in Ireland. We hired Dermot for half or our trip and then we drove ourselves the remainder of the time. It was a great way to get used to the roads and how it would feel to drive on the other side of the road. I would highly recommend this type of arrangement!!! It gave us an initial period of extra-special comfort and relaxation. Dermot will become a special part of your trip. Don’t miss out on meeting him:)

Thanks so much for getting our family in touch with our roots and doing it with style and comfort. Dermot navigated our search for our grandparents homes in an unexplored, off the beaten track part of Ireland. He was accommodating, patient and helpful with our group of 6 chatty women and he did it with a smile. It was such a pleasure to travel in his van while we enjoyed the beautiful vistas Ireland offers and his expert commentary. Having our trip personalized and without the stress of driving was key to our journeys success (especially after some spirits). Dermot’s insider tips helped us avoid competing with big tourist buses and more time for authentic experiences. I highly recommend Turas Eireann. Slainte!

We took our mother (an Irish????????Diva), to Ireland to celebrate her 80th birthday ????... her parents were from Cavan & Sligo.
Dermot was absolutely wonderful. He was punctual, organized, flexible & knowledgeable... shared history & told stories. He had a good sense of humor and was sensitive to our needs.
His van was well maintained... clean, good climate control & fresh water. He took us to hidden treasures that the large buses were unable to access.
His service & personality added to our memorable vacation.

Dermot took us on a wonderful whirlwind trip through Northern Ireland and RI. He was prompt, thoughtful (the water was greatly appreciated) and always looking for ways to get the most out of our brief stay. Beautiful scenery and stories about the areas we visited and overall history of Ireland. I would highly recommend Dermot at Turas Eireann the next time I am in Ireland.

We signed up with Turas Eireann (Dermot O’Connor), a coach and guide service that specializes in small groups of 10 people or less. My initial plan was to rent a car and drive my family through the countryside, but after talking with folks who have done that, and comparing costs, I decided it would be much better to hire a guide and coach service for this important trip. This was absolutely the best decision I could have made, and selecting Turas Eireann as our travel company made our vacation just that more wonderful, magical, and relaxing for all of us! Having a knowledgeable guide such as Dermot O’Connor, and a smaller coach that was able to maneuver those small roads and spaces gave us a much richer and fuller experience.
Dermot took us to smaller sites, off the beaten path, and not the normal tourist spots.
We were able to linger if we wished, eat and refresh at our leisure, and add or subtract to our itinerary. We were able to manage our own timeline, and Dermot assisted us in locating places that met our interests and desires.
We spent a magical afternoon finding fairy houses for my granddaughter, and she romped through the gardens, getting more delighted as she found more fairy gardens hidden in the gardens.
Dermot is very knowledgeable about his country - He talked with us about each site before we arrived, and then discussed with us what we had seen and answered all our questions.

My family and I just returned from a wonderful 12 day vacation in the beautiful Ireland countryside! Now, everyone knows (and if you don’t, i recommend a visit to Ireland!) Ireland has some of the most beautiful countrysides and views in all of Europe. While the site-seeing alone proved to be an excellent vacation, doing so with Dermot O’Connor put it over the top. Dermot was extremely friendly, funny, knowledgeable and most importantly honest. We gave him our itinerary and he helped us map out all the "worthwhile," places to visit in the great Irish countryside. We went to places that we never would have known of, or gone to if we went with any average tour guide. Dermot was an all around fantastic man, and I would recommend him to anyone visiting Ireland!

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Dermot and Turas Eireann! Dermot was helpful with planning our trip and was able to cater our experience to our wishes, likes, and physical ability. He had great recommendations, but always willing to do what we wanted! We learned so much about the beautiful country of Ireland, and saw such amazing places. Dermot was always professional, yet fun and very personable. He has truly found his passion, and it shows!
