About us

Family run Pub serving good drink and good food. We also cover all and we mean ALL sports on many screens around the premises. For the music lovers, well we have you covered too. Thursday night we have our folk sessions. Saturday’s, a live band and again on Sundays. Visit us. You won’t regret it. Meal

This was the first time we visited, and I would happily take a trip to Arklow solely to eat here again. We visited with two children and the staff could not have been nicer to them , taking the time to chat to them and listen. The food was lovely, we had a three course meal that was really reasonably priced for the quality of food provided. The warmth and attentiveness of the staff was noteworthy, and was evident in the attention given to all customers. They even came out after me when I forgot umberellas.I couldn't recommend it highly enough , really enjoyed the visit.

Top Class

Due to Covid etc we havnt been here in almost 2 years. Have always been a fan of the food here. Today we had a 3 course meal and it would be very difficult to find a better meal. Absolutely beautiful food and top class service. Well done for providing top class food and service. Look forward to our next visit.

Great place for a pub-lunch

We had a great pub-lunch here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice. The prices were also good.

Dinner with friends

Dinner this evening was delightful, lovely relaxed atmosphere, great menu, well priced. Staff helpful and attentive. All covid safety precautions in place, Best Irish coffee I've ever had. Thoroughly enjoyed. Easy to park close by. Give The Old Ship a try, you won't be disappointed.

Must visit!

Great service and absolutely fantastic food. Myself and my wife loved everything about our visit. All of the staff were very polite and helpful. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fresh food, great service and a good price.

A little gem

Excellant service, beautiful food and very enjoyable atmosphere. The food was exceptional and very reasonable. Only recommendation is to leave a little room for the beautiful desserts. Thanks to the wonderful staff for making us feel so welcome.

Tasty beef stew, vegetarian options and dog friendly!

We were looking for a dog friendly restaurant with heated/covered outdoor dining in Wicklow and came across this place. When we arrived they had sanitation stations and required masks/social distancing which was great. We sat out the back of the bar with our dog which was quiet. We ordered the Guinness beef stew special which my partner loved, he said the mash potato was very smooth too. I had the falafel burger which I was surprised at how good it was, not many places offer a good vegetarian option but this place did! The pint of Bulmers was nice too. It was a great place for a meal with our dog during our staycation and was very cheap too - less than €30 for a pint and two main courses!
