My husband ordered the hake and I had a fillet steak - really nice - both dishes cooked to perfection.

Stayed at castle cabra for the night and took advantage of the 5 course dinner and wonderful breakfast in the morning. Food was brilliant, great service, cannot fault this restaurant.

Fun to dine in a castle! We stayed at the castle with a tour group with Collette travel and had dinner and breakfast in the castle. We were given a set menu of items to choose and the offerings were great! Everything was very nice!

Ate here with a friend while in the Carrickmacross area. The food is very good, cooked to perfection. The deserts are stunning, really good, The staff are realy friendly too. All in all a great place to eat.

We stayed in one of the Lodges last Saturday night (Storm Deirdre). Despite it only being a short walk to the Castle from the Lodges, it was pouring down and the wind was howling, so we would have been drenched by the time was got there. We had been advised at check in to ring reception when we were ready for dinner and they would send a car – which they did. How’s that for service? This restaurant is just fabulous, with its gorgeous Gothic-arched doors, beautiful plasterwork ceiling and old paintings. We opted for the 5-course menu for €35.50, which is excellent value. Regardless of which starter you choose, soup is included on it, so make sure you are good and hungry when you turn up. For starters we chose Caesar Salad and Deep Fried Brie, followed by Carrot and Ginger soup. We then had Char-grilled Supreme of Irish Chicken and Medallions of Irish Angus Fillet Beef for mains, Cinnamon Crème Brulee and Cabra Castle Ice Cream Slice for dessert, followed by two coffees. The food was just exquisite, there was nothing we could find fault with. It was beautifully cooked and presented, and our server Louise was absolutely charming and had a great sense of humour; we had such fun with her. It had stopped raining by the time we were finished our meal, and we quite enjoyed the stroll back to our room. A gorgeous meal in a beautiful castle restaurant, good company and great staff – you can’t ask for more.

We were staying at the hotel and booked in for dinner. We were first in after opening and had a choice of seats. Excellent menu options catering for all. My wife has a dairy allergy and was expertly attended by Carmel throughout. Even able to put together a dessert of sorbets as all other items on dessert menu had dairy. Honestly cannot say enough good things. Would love to come back and eat here again.

We ate dinner here after speaking with Rose about our wedding in September and gosh, we enjoyed every mouthful of it! We got a nice table by the window which was lovely, really made the night nicer! We opted for the amazingly priced €35.50 pre priced menu (to try before deciding if we will use that menu for our sit down meal the night before the wedding). I ordered the caesar salad, butternut squash and smoked ham soup, chicken with chorizo stuffing and the Tiramisu. Each dish was amazing, literally the nicest caesar salad I've ever had! The soup and main were also gorgeous, they're on our wedding menu so we're very excited to be having these dishes again. My fiance ordered the brie, soup, duck and the apple dessert, he loved them all too! We were both stuffed by the end of it but didn't want to waste any dessert! The dessert was big chunks of cake rather than tiny portions which was nice but bad for my diet!! We love eating here and will be back again soon, we can't wait for our families to try the food at the wedding!

Our first night at Cabra, and first night/time ever in Ireland, and we booked a 2 night package with dinner - this was by FAR a much bigger treat than we ever expected. Everything that night was absolutely incredible including a black pudding salad, potato soup, steak fillet, dessert and the wonderful selection of wines. Service was very attentive and the restaurant itself was beautifully decorated. We were seated by a window with a cool view of the frost outside on the cars, reminding us of just how cozy and relaxing it was at our dinner. We would love to return and experience this delightful gem inside Cabra again!
