A local gem

I live in the area so I have been to pretty much most of pubs/restaurants around, but really: nothing beats The bridge. Food is always phenomenal and the staff are the other 50% of the experience. A special shout out to Julio and Mariana. They go beyond every time. Also, a great place to have a proper pint of Guinness.

Great food, beer and service!

The Bridge is an amazing pub! Always broadcasting the most important sports matches, great food and beer. Mariana and Julio are the best hosts I had the chance to meet in Dublin

Great drinks, food and staff

We were in Dublin for the weekend and forgot that we might have to book in somewhere to go for a drink because of the Autumn Internationals. By chance we got talking to the manager (I presume he was anyway) and explained this and he was very kind to fit us in on the day of the match. We had a few drink and the most delicious boneless chicken wings. The staff were great, so friendly and accommodating especially under very trying circumstances.

So relaxing

I’m in Ireland for business for about a month or so, the company I work for are expanding into Ireland so I’m on a fact finding mission. I work with big figures and big deals so it can be very stressful at times, I like to unwind on my own in bars (pubs you call them) I’ve stayed in 3 hotels since arriving in Dublin and the most recent is the Herbert park which I really enjoyed. The Bridge bar (pub) is exactly what I was looking for. The tired and weary traveller was SO welcomed by the servers. If you want to learn about Irish whiskey or any whisky ask for Dalin, I learned so much and he was so happy to help and welcome me . Maryanna and Julio are just amazing, When you’re away from home as much as I am it’s so comforting to have a place to go where the employees are genuinely happy to be there and make a sincere effort make you feel important. I’ll miss coming here when I return home but the impact it’s made will stay with me forever

Best Local Pub in Dublin

Want to feel like a local while enjoying a pint and delicious food at an Irish Pub in Dublin? Look no further than The Bridge 1859 in the affluent and quaint village of Ballsbridge. This cozy gastropub is owned by professional rugby celebrities and is the perfect place to watch a variety of sports, including American football on Sundays. The Bridge 1859 is also a hotspot during live events at the Aviva Stadium which is a short walk from the pub. With so many pubs in Dublin, The Bridge 1859 is our favorite pub for the following reasons… The food is delicious! A few of my personal favs include the Smash Burger (hands down the BEST BURGER in Dublin!), Fish and Chips, Superfood Salad (I get a side of this every time I go - so yummy), Soy-glazed Cod, Wings, delicious soups, and the most decadent warm brownie with ice cream. Good variety of draught and bottled beers, wine, and specialty cocktails. A few personal favs include Guinness, a pint of β€œspecial”, the Elderflower Spritz, and Classic Cosmo. In a party mood? Order a round of Baby Guinness shots. This classy pub is actually kid friendly! My boys LOVE the burger (they call it β€œthe hamburger place”), chicken goujons (tenders in America), and end the meal with a brownie to share (mostly so mom and dad can have a bite). Added perk… the pub is near Herbert Park which has a great playground for kids of all ages. Equally important, the staff is SO friendly, will treat you like a local, and make you feel welcomed. You don’t get this friendly service everywhere in Dublin so it makes The Bridge 1859 extra special. After exploring many pubs across Dublin, The Bridge 1859 is our absolute favorite and we frequently dine there… probably too much. As expats living in Ireland, we wanted to find our local pub and this is it!
