Beautiful Church ⛪
Driving through Kilrush we had to stop to visit St. Senan’s Church. I always seek out churchs & cathedrals in any village , town or city I visit. St. Senan’s is just beautiful. The lighting, stained glass is all amazing. Such a beautiful peaceful haven in a busy town. We’ll worth a visit, one of the nicest I have seen.

St Senans Church
Disappointed that I couldn’t get to go into the church, firstly there was a wedding & when we went back at around 5pm it was locked up. Rose window from the outside looked amazing.

Harry Clarke stained-glass windows
As part of his church decoration business Joshua Clarke made stained-glass windows. His Dublin-born son Henry Patrick "Harry" Clarke (17 March 1889 – 6 January 1931) developed his talents in his father’s workshops. In a tragically short but brilliant career, Harry achieved considerable international renown for his highly accomplished and very distinctive work as a stained-glass artist. Harry was also a book illustrator and a leading figure in the Irish Arts and Crafts Movement. Some of the finest examples of Clarke’s windows can be found behind the altar of St. Senan’s R.C. Church, Toler Street, Kilrush.
The windows are magnificent and well worth a visit. You will not be disappointed.
The 1840s church is also a wonderful example of church architecture.

Beautiful historic church
Kilrush is a lovely town, towered over by this beautiful church which has gorgeous windows and details worth exploring - including a marvellous acoustic! There is great history here too and then a short walk away on Vandeleur St is a delightful cafe where you can re-charge your non-spiritual batteries!

Wonderful trip to Ireland
We were traveling to Ireland last week and stayed in three different hotels. Our favorite was The Lodge at Ashford Castle. Our rooms were beautiful. The staff and service were top notch. The only negative was we could not go to the Castle as it was rented out by a company the entire time we were there. We did have a
very nice anniversary dinner celebration at the upstairs dining room of the Lodge. The food and service was wonderful. They also have a very nice breakfast buffet every morning too. Some in our group signed up for the Falconry class and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a car and it was just a short drive into the city of Cong. That was where the movie "The Quiet Man" was filmed. A charming little town.

Commissioned by Col. Vandaleur
The architect who designed the church in 1840 is William Owen (and this is the only church he ever designed) who ran the Board of Works. The church was completed by J.J. McCarthy who added the belfry in 1861.Recently modernised.
