Rathmullan House is situated on the shores of Lough Swilly in Co. Donegal. With a golden sandy beach at the bottom of the gardens it is a perfect spot to enjoy the outdoors. All 32 bedrooms are individually styled from romantic garden rooms to adjoining family rooms. The Cook & Gardener is our award winning restaurant serving the finest local, fresh produce as well as a splendid full Irish and buffet breakfast.

Perfect stay

Beautiful, characterful hotel on lovely grounds. Service was professional, friendly and experienced. The food in the restaurant deserves a special mention, it is wonderful, as is the breakfast which is made to order and can’t be compared to the usual (very average) buffet breakfasts in a lot of the big hotels on the same price point. The room was simple but very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was huge and bright with a massive walk in shower and big bath. Products were nicer than average also. Already planning my next stay here, and I’m sure it won’t be my last either.

Long overdue return visit that did not disappoint

Long overdue return visit Used to stay here when kids were young so lots happy memories here. Have not been back until this week, stayed 3 nights dinner and breakfast, for a few years. It did not disappoint as excellent as ever. Staff, food and room all excellent. Great place to chill especially when the fires lit. Lovely beach at bottom of garden for a walk. Don’t hesitate to book if you want a relaxing escape with great food.

A superb family hotel.

This is our third visit in the past 12 months. We keep returning because of the superb service offered by this longstanding family hotel. The setting overlooking Lough Swilly is tranquil and yet stunning. The hotel is bristling with history and character. Our superior room on the first floor offered a commanding view and we were happy to sit in our room and look out on the gardens below. To top it all, dinner and breakfast in the Cook & Gardener Restaurant was excellent. A special thanks to Cara, the senior server. In fact, all the staff worked together as a team. One could tell that there was a very positive vibe amongst them all.

Excellent in every way

Absolutely fantastic first visit to RathMullan House - top class food, brilliant staff, beautiful house both inside and out - highly recommend- not cheap but great value for money - lovely gardens leading down to beach - we will return !!

My happy place!

Third time staying in this special hotel, second time with the kids. Rathmullan House is resistant to Covid. The beautiful rooms, the friendly service, the delicious breakfasts, Cook & Gardner dinners, the new Pavillion pizzas, the location and even the weather...all of it perfect. Thank you for a wonderful Irish holiday. A special thanks to Conor from Rathmullan Charters and Stephanie and Hugh from Eco Atlantic Adventures for making our holiday even better. All 5 of us look forward to our next visit.
