O'Connor's Cafe & Seafood Restaurant, Bantry

Exceptionally friendly, fun and attentive staff. Could not praise them highly enough. The food was fresh, inventive and full of flavour. Highly recommended for any family looking for a special treat. We'll definitely be back! PS - don't try to pull the front door off the hinges if trying to close it from the inside, it has a release button! ????

Had a wonderful dining experience at O'Connor's on a recent break to Bantry. Despite the staff being very busy on the night they were very attentive & friendly. Food was delicious & good value too. I would highly recommend a visit.

Very good food. Very Coeliac friendly. You can tell a real effort is put in to the ingredients as the flavours were fantastic. (The mushy peas with the fish and chips were unreal)

We eat here 2 nights while in Bantry and am still drooling over the food . It was seafood at its very best served by lovely friendly staff .O Connors know how to look after their customers .

The food the setting and the staff were 5 out of 5. They have a superb menu that caters for everyone. Would highly recommend.

Weather was dry which helped with outside dining but plenty of heaters so we were very comfortable. The staff were really nice and friendly. Mussels and calamari were fab as starters. My daughter didn’t care for the avocado starter but I thought it was nice enough. Everyone loved the mains. We had pasta sea bass steak scampi and fish and chips. We had such a nice meal we returned again the following night. Very good experience

If you're visiting Bantry for some reason very few restaurants open on a Tuesday and boy am I glad they don't because we may have missed out on this gem. Excellent food and outdoor dining that felt like indoors. My partner was highly impressed with the lemon sole.

Shane and team are doing brilliant job. When it comes to outdoor space, it’s one of the best in Bantry. Other places with outdoor seating are not fully sheltered. The weather on the coast changes regularly (and quickly) and you can see they have invested a bit of money compared to other places where only big umbrellas/ or awnings only are used. Heater are available too. When it comes to food, a little bit of work is needed but overall the food is good and tasty. Starters like calamari and scampi are really good. Fish and chips and chicken burger are also very good. Muscles in creamy sauce real tasty however the seafood pasta (with tomato base sauce) just wasn’t great. Although to be fair to the guys I was made aware that the sauce is tomato (not creamy as menu says) and I think they replaced the muscles with fish as they run out of muscles, but the pasta dish just wasn’t great, tasted “mushy” and not seasoned properly (I’m happy to provide further feedback if required), However I must say all other reviews I have seen are just “shaming” how bad the food was, which is not true. Half of the people who left a bad review would not say anything to the waiter or the manager and they go on Tripadvisor to vent and express their opinion. I’m sure if you mentioned something to the team on the day, they would try to do something/ or replace a dish or recover the situation etc. It’s easy to go online and rant about how bad the food is, yet people can’t be bothered to give feedback when they are there using excuses like “ I didn’t want to say anything because it was a special occasion etc.” Shane and the team are doing a great job and that is why I give 5 star. For the service. I ate there twice in the week and on both occasions (4 adults + 2 young kids) and the food was good, the service was great, swift and friendly. PS: would recommend later seatings instead of earlier as you get a little bit more time to dine and relax. Regards Martin
