Middle Street

This is the times square of Galway. You’ll see dancers, singers, acts and much more. Great night life and pubs.

This is a great section of town that actually runs for a block or two in several directions. It’s filled with pubs and restaurants, but the highlight is in the early evening when, if the weather’s nice, various little bands set up in the street and play Irish music and some other genres. One we saw included a young lady doing step-dancing to the various songs. At the same time, various musicians are playing inside some of the establishments. We heard a musical trio doing instrumentals during dinner at one spot and peeked in at a group of eight violinists just inside another place. Apparently, more scheduled acts take the stage at various pubs around 9:30 p.m., but after a long day of touring, we didn’t make it that late! We were plenty entertained anyway, however. I bought a pint and walked the glass to the street to enjoy the show and then returned the glass to the pub afterwards. No one seemed to mind.

lovely little spot with endearing staff ,a great place to share very tasty yummy dishes at very reasonable prices, the wine was surprisingly good and a choice of Asian beers as well I will be back again and again and again

We liked the street performers and shopping the best. There is a variety of business, restaurants and sites to see all within a short walk.

The very place for people looking for expensive bars and souvenir shops, musicians at every corner and tourists from all over the world.

Lots of hidden treasures waiting to be discovered middle street offers that and much more. Good craic ambiance. Worth a visit to say that you have been. Recommended.
