Good but limited.

This is a clean well minded child activity centre.
It has a reasonable variety of things to keep young children occupied up to a limit of 10years old.
We brought a 5, 10 and 11 year old.,while the 5 year old loved it the and the 10year old did have a good time; entertaining the 11 year old (but closer to 12) was more difficult. The website mentions they cater for up to 16 year olds, well they must be very sheltered 16 year olds, me bet is you wouldn’t get a 13 year old out of the car if you brought them here.
Ask that being said, for the toddler to 10 year olds this is an enjoyable 3 or so hours.

There is a coffee trailer on site and plenty of tables and picnic benches to choose from.

We paid €52 for 2 adults and 3 children which is a little steep for the facilities on offer.
(compare Dublin Zoo @ €54 for the same family)

The staff were good and friendly and there was good supervision on the site.

A must for any family!

I cannot praise Mellowes enough. From the moment we arrived the staff were so nice and really interactive with the kids. Love the fact there are no hidden costs. There’s so much to do we spent the whole day here, really refreshing not to be restricted to sessions because of covid. Coffee and cakes were excellent. The place is so clean and all the equipment is really well maintained. They even had games for the kids, face painting and staff doing bubbles. Can’t wait to book our next visit!

Good facility but rogue customer interactions

After attending a birthday party at Mellowes today, I was actually astonished & disgusted to see a post they put up on their social media platforms accusing the party host of deliberately leaving their one bag of rubbish that they had from tidying up after the party. It was a genuine oversight. It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that an apparent professional business would stoop to this level of customer interaction. Amazing that I had spoke to family & friends today to recommend this place for the kids to just as quick retract my words. They will also only remember Mellowes for what they are capable of doing not for the facilities they have, The embarrassment and distress they have caused with their very unprofessional social media posts. Bad form Mellowes.

Super spot for the under 12s

Mellowes adventure park is a great place for the youngsters to burn off some energy. This lovely park is full of swings, slides, climbing frames and walls. There’s a sand play area, go-cart track, bouncy castles, crazy golf, basketball nets and a football field with lots of other little play areas, like the mud kitchen and the play sheds. There’s plenty of picnic benches and areas where parents can sit with a cuppa and supervise their children. It costs €10 per child and €2.50 per adult which we felt was good value for money as a lot of thought, time and effort has been put into the building of this super park. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic as there is just tea/coffee and ice cream available for purchase. We had a lovely picnic in the sun while our little one had great fun exploring and playing. We’ll definitely be back one day!

Wow! Mellowes in Athboy is just amazing.

I was shown around this fantastic Centre today and I was just in absolute awe of the play facilities and equipment available for children and their families. I have never seen anything like it. It is an absolute paradise for children and their imaginations all in a really attractive, safe and stimulating environment. Well done to all involved.

Fun day out

Visited today for the first time with two young children (1 and 3) and entry cost €15; 1 year old free. First impressions were that we were very impressed; a large plot of land with plenty of activities/play structures for kids. Swings, slides, see-saws, climbing frames, sandpits, bouncy castles, pedal go karts, crazy golf to name a few. The site is well maintained, very clean, you can purchase tea/coffee onsite but you need to bring your own food; would be a nice addition if you could purchase muffins or some cakes perhaps. That said, there are two nice picnic areas to enjoy if you come prepared with your own food.

The only negative we had is that one of the main activity areas (where the bouncy castles and some other fun activities are located) is difficult to access/navigate with a buggy. The ground consists of a lot of loose stone/pebbles and it’s a struggle pushing a baby across these. You really need two people to lift the buggy/stroller over the stones to the activity areas, which we saw a few people doing, so I could see a single parent having some difficulty here.

That said, the kids had a great day out, really enjoyed all that was on offer here and we would happily come back.
