Fantastic place to stay
This is an excellent place to stay if your touring Donegal and Ireland. Perfect for a midweek or weekend break. Hospitality is great and the open fire is perfect after a trip to the local pub or restaurant. I will definitely be staying here again Thanks Frank ????

we love this place
We keep coming back to this place for almost 20 years now. It's an excellent place to stay in a very beautiful and secluded area. Warm, clean, comfortable rooms, some of them ensuite. Even the biggest Dorm has only 4 beds. Family rooms ensuite are available. 2 clean, spacious and well equipped kitchens invite to do your own cooking. And at the heart of it all there's a large comfortable common room. Here is the place to be in the evenings when the fire crackles and the hostel guests come together for a wee chat with Frank, the hostels owner. If your'e looking for music, Pubs, TV and Wifi this place will probably not meet your expectations. To receive an email or share a Video, you'd have to climb up the next hill because there is no mobile network in the Village nor Wifi at the hostel. But if you're game to a little rest from it all, walking the quiet hills, swimming on the nearby beach or just enjoying the sun and the scenery while sitting with a book and a cup of tea in front of the Hostel - well this is the place you've been looking for! And after all - the Pubs of Glencolumcill are just a 10 Minute drive or an hours walk away :-) …

Cleanest hostel, friendliest owner, relaxing stay!
This is, quite actually, my favorite all around hostel! It has everything one needs for a holiday, with food stores and sites to see nearby. The hostel itself is immaculate and in impeccable shape. The owner, Frank, is a lovely host and is attentive to all one’s needs and questions. I wish EVERY hostel were like this! All hostels in Ireland should use it as an example. Thanks Frank, it was a pleasure!

A great place to visit, relax and refresh!
Once again, Malin Beg hostel proved to be an excellent choice of venue, I've been here 3 times now and will be more than happy to return again. The owner, Frank, was as hospitable as ever with his quiet good humour, and a knack of being there just when he's needed. Not always in the foreground but always on hand with advice when asked for and a font of useful knowledge. The hostel is only 5 minutes walk from Silver Strand beach or the little harbour for anyone who enjoys swimming or angling. Interior wise, it's very well fitted out, with spotlessly clean rooms and comfortable beds, decent showers and toilets. Two kitchens are well equipped with utensils etc and more than capable of accommodating the needs of those who are staying. The cosy fire in the evenings was very welcome and helped provide a conducive atmosphere for small talk and relaxation alike. I look forward to coming back in the near future. …

It's 5-Star Hostel!
How can you beat this location and the price? And Frank, the owner, is a gracious and quietly hard-working and humorous host. Simple, clean and comfortable room with promised view of the wild Atlantic and easy access to its incredible beach nearby. And our own bathroom! When we realized we were to supply our own towels (we had traveled with very limited weight restrictions), Frank went to his own place and grabbed two for us, calling me a "5-Star Hotel Lady"! We made our own dinner and breakfast in the roomy kitchenS (there are two!) and sat by the wonderful peat fire chatting with Frank and other guests. We love the Glen Head Bar nearby and they had great music the night we were there. Our only regret was not being able to spend another night, but we hope to return on a future journey. …
