Discover Lough Boora
We brought our bicycles out to Lough Boora Discovery Park and had such an amazing time. It was definitely the best way for us to get around and see as much as possible. The Sculpture Park was my favourite part. On a side note, the public toilets and facilities were very clean, very impressed for a free amenity. We enjoyed a 99 from the Organic Kitchen and walked along the lake. There is so much to see at the Discovery Park, we’ll be back again soon.
Fabulous walk through amazing surroundings Great for all ages. Highly recommend Fairy Avenue - fairy doors galore. Picnic tables available - rained when we visited but that had no impact on our enjoyment
Great transformation to a forest park of a previous active peat "harvesting" area. It will get better and better because of the planted trees growing. Good for cycle trips and walking.
It’s an amazing place with terrific biodiversity. Cafe staff are very friendly . Sign posting is very scant and lots of information plaques have faded. Needs a bit of updating
Lovely place with plenty to do, lots of interesting things for young children including fairy ring and Thomas the Tank engine train. There is lots of sculptures and unusual artifacts. We found the trails a little hard to follow and due to covid no maps available however we could have downloaded a map. If going to attend here please be aware there is plenty of walking or alternatively you can hire a bike. There is a cafe on site also which is reasonable and freah food. We’ll worth a visit.
A great facility
There’s a great series of walks here. The maps and initial signposting are confusing particularly at the starting points. Staff were friendly and toilets clean however interpretative panels badly needed to be cleaned. There’s a great coffee shop with a good selection.
The fairy walk was magical even for 2 grandparents. Well done Bord na Mona.
