Jadotville Memorial

Very interesting. It’s a mark of respect to the men of A company 35th Battalion who fought for the UN in the Congo against enormous odds. They held out from the 13th to the 17th September 1961.

They were then imprisoned and having survived all the above they then came home to a nation that only just recently honoured their efforts.

To go I’d advise phoning ahead, the memorial is in a working military base.

Really worth a visit. It’s simplicity, it’s setting, really respectful.
