Irish's Bar

Quick walk from the Knocktopher abbey; this pub felt like everyone here knew each other in a great way. It was the opposite feeling when you walk in the bar, music stops and everyone stares - instead, when we sat down, someone next to us immediately struck up a conversation. Everyone was very friendly to me and my wife. The bartenders were warm and very friendly. And to top it off, they had a live band playing! (Sunday Night)

Enjoyed a Sunday night listening to Irish and Country music. Met some lovely locals while I enjoyed a Guinness. Eamon picks up guests from Knocktopher Abbey, so you don’t need your car or have to walk. A true Irish gentleman!

We spent a wonderful St. Stephens night in Irish’s bar. The music was really festive and the service was impeccable. If you’re in the area, it’s a must visit.

Best Owner we met so far in any establishments! The beer is over the top! And the new friends you will meet there will make you want to return!!

On a trip to Kilkenny, I spent an evening in this very cosy country public house. I was impressed by the staff, particularly the landlord Eamon, who created a friendly warm atmosphere. The locals likewise were welcoming and chatty. That night we were entertained by a first class Kenny Rogers tribute act, everyone joined in. Overall an uplifting experience and highly recommended.

We had so much fun at Irish’s Pub! Stayed local at the Abbey and Visited Irish’s Pub several times. Locals were fabulous and atmosphere was a lot of fun! Highly recommend!

A nice little bar with friendly regulars and an amazing owner. From the minute we stepped in we felt like we had been there all of our lives. I will most definitely be back!

My friends and I have just returned from our yearly (7 years and counting) visit to Knocktopher. It has become our second home and Irish’s is a HUGE part of that. You couldn’t ask for a more friendly environment to visit and spend a fun filled evening. The Guinness is always cold, the live music is spectacular and the Landlord, Eamon is one of the nicest people you could ever ask to me. If you are ever passing through Knocktopher and don’t spend an evening here (especially a Sunday) you are truly missing out.

We stopped here for a few drinks along with a quick, fun, hurling lesson, Guinness pouring lessons and live traditional music on our Trafalgar Bus Tour. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The owner and the locals were friendly and gracious to all 43 of us tourists and our guides. A friendly little local pub, not to be missed if you really want to experience the people of Ireland and not just the Tourist Traps.
