Hazelbrook Bed & Breakfast

Stayed there for a week in July 2021. It was truly homely, impeccable cleanliness. John was just such a cheerful and helpful host. The garden was spectacular. Im certainly staying there my next trip to Ireland! Best self catering rental I ever stayed at, the location is fantastic. Can’t wait to return!

I've been to Westport many times, and one of the highlights of spending time there is always staying at Hazelbook. I very much look forward to the clean (and warm) rooms, the garden, and the craic with John. We do a good deal of walking and hiking and enjoy the location that has trails in one direction and an easy walk to our favorite pubs in the other. Really, the only downsides are that I feel that both my potato farl and garden are inferior to John's! We hope to stay again on our next visit!

I stayed here for two nights in October 2019 as part of a bus tour. The facility is immaculately clean. My room had a modern bathroom, plenty of good quality towels, and a very comfortable bed. The Innkeeper was cheerful and welcoming; and he treated us to his lovely singing voice each morning as he cooked up a delicious, full Irish breakfast. The dining room was clean and comfortable. Along with the full Irish, there was a good selection of fruit, muffins, juice, etc. There was a small (but comfortable) common area with tea, coffee and snacks. The only negative was the WIFI connection. While I had no difficulty connecting, the guests in other parts of the B&B had difficulty connecting and major problems with speed. Additionally, if I were travelling alone I think I would have been a little uncomfortable walking after dark from the downtown area back to the B&B. It's a lovely, quiet area, but a little too deserted and not well lit in some areas. I'm a very cautious traveller so this is probably not an issue for most. …

We would recommend Hazelbrook B&B to anyone traveling in County Mayo. John was a superb host. He was very welcoming, made a great (and filling!) breakfast every morning, and was always on-hand to help with parking arrangements in the driveway - which was such a very nice touch. The B&B was very clean and tidy and situated right near town - it's just a short walk away from shops and restaurants. We would absolutely stay here again.
