Graduation Celebration

We recently celebrated our sons graduation in Hayfield. We had previously celebrated another sons graduation and had a fabulous time so hence our repeat visit. It did not disappoint in any way. Thanks Fiona for booking us and advising about elderly relatives coming with us. Thanks Ellie & Kara for the fantastic service & minding us on the day. Thanks to everyone we dealt with as so many others dealt with us along the way. The hotel is lovely but was particularly splendid on the day dressed for Christmas. Comfort, luxury, delicious food & great service. We felt like kings!

Hospitality done properly

Hospitality done properly Right now it’s a very hot and humid afternoon in Cork and while my partner is using the gym I a sitting in the hotel foyer watching the world go by and I thought I’d take the time to write this. We arrived I Hayfield Manor on Monday evening after a 4.5 hour drive from Belfast (432 km / 268 miles). After navigating the narrow streets of the residential area surrounding it we arrived at the hotel and immediately understood why it is frequently referred to as an oasis. It looks really welcoming. Valet parking was still suspended as part of the now relaxing COVID precautions but the valet staff was really welcoming and eager to help in any way they could. Check-in was quick and efficient and within minutes we were in our room 226, a recently renovated large room. The first thing to say about this hotel is about the staff. This is a team of genuinely lovely, friendly people who provide a service in a very natural and unforced way. I particularly would like to mention Taodh, Orlaith who served us in our first night in Perrotts restaurant, and Cathy the team leader in Perrotts. People like them can really enhance a stay. Room 226 is a large and airy room with three large windows looking on to the small gardens to the side of the property. There is a huge comfortable bed and a sitting area with two seater sofa and table. The built-in storage is modern and also ample but the most impressive thing is the bathroom. The bathroom is large, finished in marble, with double sinks, a very large shower, a large stand alone bath tub and a separate toilet cubicle. Daily breakfast during our stay was between 8am and 11am and was served in either the Orchids restaurant or Perrotts, depending on crowd / demand. The food was great and I opted for the full Irish breakfast which was a very clean fry / mixed grill. Again, service was super friendly. On two evenings of our three night stay we dined in Perrotts Garden Bistro. I have already mentioned the quality of the staff but the food did not disappoint. The ingredients are locally sourced and there is a nice mix available. This establishment seems to be favoured by locals as well as residents but I will write a separate review. A COVID related observation: This property is spotless, rooms, dining areas and public restrooms. One morning after breakfast the Maitre d’ in Perrotts caught my eye when resetting a table after a breakfast sitting. He had no idea that I was observing him but the efforts he took in sanitising the table and chairs was amazing and reassuring. He took time to lift even the lamp off the table and use sanitiser on it before doing a very careful job on the table and chairs. In summary this is a great hotel, clearly well managed and had a nice mix of age groups during our stay which provided us with a relaxing, dynamic and enjoyable atmosphere. …

An Incredible Venue for an intimate Wedding

We couldn't have had a more amazing experience then the one we had with Erin, John, Frank, Ruth and the team at Hayfield Manor for our wedding day. From early on we knew they were the exact right fit for us, the attention to detail and responsiveness to queries was exceptional and we really felt that Erin understood our vision from the start. Everything from our tasting menu meal to the pre wedding planning meeting exceed our expectations. The day itself was incredible. I can't say enough good things about John the Events Manger, the table decoration, his attentiveness and genuine care for us and our guests were felt by all. Frank was on hand to help and chat with everyone and by day two we felt like part of the family. Nothing at all was a problem for anyone and everyone was so kind to us during our stay. Ruth at reception was incredible and handled any and all queries with grace and poise, she really is an excellent representative for Hayfield, warm, friendly and efficient. People are still talking about the party we had for friends on day two, the food was a highlight for our guests and they couldn't believe the atmosphere that was created by John and the team. Johnathan and Ben who looked after us were so attentive and kept everything on the road. Down to Johnathan making sure I always had a glass of champagne to Ben who looked after everyone so diligently, always with a smile. We stayed in two other top class hotels (5 and 4 star) as part of our honeymoon, and we can safely say none of them came close to Hayfield Manor. We look forward to many more happy memories in Hayfield Manor. …
