Guerin’s Path. Martin & Christie. Support local.

We met Martin the land owner and Christie to park the car and walk an almost private route along the Cliffs of Moher. It was absolutely superb. Martin has a wealth of knowledge and a genuine interest in the land (which he and his family farms) and the people who might like to walk it and learn about the history of the area and The Cliffs of Moher from a different perspective. He took great pride in his land and it shone just as the Sun did on an otherwise breezy and cool morning. Wrap up warm (light waterproofs advisable) and wear sturdy comfy walking boots and don’t get too close to the edge! It can be precariously dangerous and Mother Nature can be unpredictable in these parts. Everyone is accountable for their own actions when out and about on the walk. We would absolutely recommend Guerin’s Path for a small fee and free car parking. There is a lovely lady called Clara who has a thriving business called Gra Picnics look out on Instagram it’s a wonderful idea for proposals and sensible small parties. There is also a trendy coffee dock/truck a short walk down from the picnic area with stunning views of the Cliffs. The coffee is good and the treats as well you’ll need it after the 2 hour walking tour! We cannot recommend Martin and his vision for maintaining the area and appreciating his land. The walk to Hags Head is spectacular. You’ll see amazing wildlife nesting on the Cliffs and you’ll have a new found appreciation for how mighty some birds are in tough conditions. The Cliffs are a wonder to behold it truly is an amazing experience. Thank you Martin, Christie and Clara for a wonderful morning.

Breathtaking views

Great way to see the cliffs. Staff are very friendly and helpful (assisted me with my car after it broke down). I would highly recommend this as an alternative to the official visitor centre up the road which is busy and more expensive.

Excellent.

What a super spot ???? met by the smile of a gentleman named Christy. Who gave us all the pointers on the walk & history of the cliffs. Himself & his son in law Martin, the owner of this fabulous land were so very welcoming to us. We had a great time. €5 entry fee & It only took 5mins to reach the highest point of the cliffs from the carpark. Lots o Amazing views

Hike from Doolin to Cliffs of Moher

From beautiful Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher is 8k along the cliff walk. It’s absolutely stunning and not difficult but I would recommend hiking boots. We had a snack and rest at the cliffs and then walked back. I think there is a bus back to Doolin if you didn’t want to hike back.

Makes it so easy.

Owner allowed me to drive all the way to the top in my camper, class views even on a wet and windy day, much better than the rip off down the road

Great views of Cliffs of Moher

Guerins Path is a gem. Providing amazing views of the Cliffs of Moher. There are multiple parking areas. The first requires a small walk uphill. If you have a buggie, walking difficulties, etc a further car park will bring you nearer to the Cliffs. Far less visitors than the official area much better views and cheaper. You do miss out on visitors center but you don’t go to the Cliffs to be inside.

Forget the crowds and tour buses, visit the Cliff’s of Moher via Guerin’s Path

If you enjoy large crowds, packed tour buses, and the like, please drive 3 minutes down the road and visit the cliff’s at the official visitor center.

However, if you prefer to leave all of that behind you, drive up to Guerin’s Path, pay the local 5 Euro per person, and enjoy the exact same view in peace, where you’re able to carve out a small space of this incredible view for yourself.

Quick walk to the Cliffs

The Bed and Breakfast we stayed at recommended parking here to see the Cliffs of Moher, rather than parking at the Visitor Center. This is a private parking lot on a farm, and it costs 5 euros per person. You then walk about 2 minutes for a great view of the Cliffs of Moher. From here you can walk further south down to Hag’s Head, or walk north about a mile to the Visitor Center and O’Brien’s Tower. The advantage of parking here is that it’s less expensive and a lot less crowded than the experience at the Visitor Center, which gets flooded with tour buses by mid-morning; plus it’s a shorter walk to a view. The only minor disadvantage is that you’ll be walking on dirt trails and mud rather than the more manicured and safe experience you get by parking at the Visitor Center, but for us that was part of the fun! I definitely recommend.

nice alternative to the official car park

Read about this on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. Not too hard to find, but only marked by a little white sign post so keep your eyes open. It is much closer to the cliffs and the walks there have none of the barriers that the Visitors Center site has. It does cost 5Euro per person, which seems a bit steep to me, but the location for the people in our group who have limited mobility was perfect. Dramatic views! A fairly easy walk to the Visitors Center if you need facilities, souvenirs, food, etc.
