Great Surprise, Great Food, Great People

Little, unassuming pub/restaurant that turned out to be a wonderful find. Sixteen of us dropped in for lunch late in the afternoon and took over the small space. The waitress was so pleasant as she calmly explained what the dishes were, never making anyone feel we were taking up too much time. One of our party has dietary restrictions, and the cook came out to find out what she needed. The kitchen stepped up and delivered delicious lunches. My gammon was the best ham I've ever had, and the side dish of mashed parsnips and turnips was magnificient. The cook took the time to explain how the ham was prepared the old fashioned way, brining it then hanging it, then boiling it, then baking it. They went to a lot of trouble to make sure it tasted so good. The cook said they could take short cuts, but the farmers who eat there would know.

Great pub grub

Great local bar with good menu and food to match. Good honest family menu and worth travelling from Strabane or local villages for food. Staff friendly, owner knowledgeable and professional service. Highly recommend. Great clean honest food. Keep up the good work folks

Go back in time

This is a wonderful old institution which has remained the same as it was from day one. I didnt' ask how long it has been open but I should guess 100 years or so. It has a lovely homely atmosphere with good old fashioned food your parents would have got had they been clients of this restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially to Tourists who stop in on their way to local sites of interest. The prices are still good value, long may it last but the coffee is not great ! The best Pint in Raphoe can be had in the bar next door all part of the same building and well worth a visit. The only problem I found was parking is scarce some days especially when the local Mart is on and it is on a busy corner, so watch out when you come out the door.

Friendly stop

While we did not eat, we popped in for an adult beverage while traveling from Glenveigh to Enniskillen. After making sure ladies with us would feel comfortable and confirming we could use pounds, four of us had a delightful time with a local and barkeep Sean. Broke up our trip nicely. Do stop by, and, by the smells coming from restaurant, consider taking time to eat a bite. Good luck Sean in your goalie postition!

A great family meal

We went here with extended family on St.Patrick's evening. There was nine of us in total, and we left nine empty plates. Food was very good and there was plenty of it. There was a good atmosphere and we had some banter with the staff. Very reasonably priced.

lovely simple good food and service

we dropped in here after visting the stone circle. We were invited to sit in the lounge bar and were quoted the sandwich fillings and offered the optio for lunch. We chose sandwiches (beef and mustard, roast chicken, egg salad) and a pot of tea. While we were waiting for the sandwiches I could smell chips so when the sandwiches arrived I asked if we could have chips and was offered a basket of chips to share among the 4 of us. The bread was fresh and it was obvious the sandwiches were made to order. The beef and the chicken were top quality and the filling was generous in all the sandwiches. Don't expect boutique decor, this is a blast from the past lounge bar but the service is excellent and quality simple food. We paid 20 euros for the 4 of us
