Idyllic Family Holiday in the Burren

Fermoyle Cottage is situated beside Fermoyle Farmhouse in an idyllic, little green oasis surrounded by the spectacular Karst Scenery so characteristic of The Burren, or Na Bóirne, Place of Stones in Irish. The house is a spacious bungalow, with three spacious bedrooms and a very nice family bathroom with a corner bath. I loved the bath. The dual aspect master bedroom had an ensuite and a dressing room. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could want should you wish to eat in. We went out most evenings, there are plenty of places around but you needed to drive to restaurants and the supermarket. There was a lovely triple aspect living room with a television, books, videos and toys for young children. There is a beautiful beach in a sheltered little cove within walking distance. On a warm summer's day, the water is warm and gorgeous to swim in. There is also a surf school if you are feeling energetic and surf boards and wet gear are for hire at reasonable cost. Lots of fun rock pools for the kiddies. There are lots of other available activities in the area within an hour's drive. We went on a day trip to the Aran Islands and hired bikes and had a really fun afternoon cycling around and taking lovely photos. There is a sheep farm in Caherconnell with very impressive sheepdog demonstrations, the dogs were very sweet and really lovely with the children who were there. The Aillwee Cave and its history is very interesting as is Caherconnell Fort. The Cliffs of Moher is a lovely day out with some really nice shops and a cafe. The people of Clare have a long history, which they can trace back to at least 5000BC. They are friendly, warm and welcoming. My husband, myself and family had a really lovely, memorable family holiday in their midst. …

Vacationing in the Burren- Fermoyle

If you are looking for peace and quiet out in the country side, this quaint country cottage style of accommodations is for you. The owners are amazing and very accommodating. There is plenty of great sites to see: Cliffs of Moher, Poulnabrone landmark portal thumb and the countryside charm. The lodging is Spectacular: warm, clean, comfortable and affordable - all out in the Irish countryside- plenty of fresh air. There is short and long term accomadations depending on your needs ( schooling)! Easy in and out. Absolutely loved it here and will return! Thank you!

Charming Farmhouse in beautiful country setting

We loved this place. We each had our own comfy warm room, 2 single ladies( Mom and Auntie) and a young couple. Many walks in the surrounding area...so beautiful......very near the ocean if you wanted a longer walk...... situated in "The Burren"...interesting rock formations everywhere.

Perfect New Year Getaway

Booked this beautiful accommodation through booking.com for a New Year visit away from home and to say it exceeded my expectations is an understatement. Regular contact from Jessica before our stay and arrived safely on Dec 30 th as a family of 7 . We had the cottage (absolutely adorable ) and a double room booked in the farmhouse . Both accommodations were cosy and quaint and we were made to feel straight at home ....although our home isn’t located on the picturesque Atlantic way coast road . Spent time in Doolin as recommended by the owners had a great meal at Maganns bar on our first night along with a good old Pint of the black stuff in the only local pub in Fanore Odonnahues ( landlord really friendly ) Explored the coastline and visited the Cliffs of Moher about 30-40 Mins away by car ( this is a must do ) breathtaking scenery on New Year’s Day . Returning back to our cottage was always a delight in the evening after a day of exploring relaxing in front of the log burner . My only disappointment is I can’t seem to find the accommodation available again to rebook . Highly recommended and eager to return:) Thank you for an amazing start to 2018 …
