Walkers Paradise
Lovely trail alongside The River Finn. Wooded walkways & trails.
If you’re in Finn Valley Area of Stranorlar or Ballybofey & want to stretch your legs then this is the walk for you.
Along the river with beautiful views. Some uphill areas but mostly flat. You will really enjoy it! Suitable for all ages.

Lovely walks
Lovely walks through the woods in Stranorlar along the river looking at the fairy doors. There’s a few different walks to follow with wide paths & maps at various locations & different starting points with small free car parks. You can also cross the footbridge at the end into Ballybofey by Jackson’s Hotel & walk past shops, then back over the road bridge into Stranorlar. There’s also a few narrower paths on the other side of the road away from the river, through thicker woods, but is a bit steeper.

as part of twin towns walking festival w/end 4-6 oct
This was a guided walk in the woods and turned out to be a wonderful event. Two trails one in the lower section and one in the upper section of the woods. Both are 1.2km in length and are easy accessible from three directions.

Beautiful
Went on a misty wet day. A lovely walk through the woods. The paths is flat and can be used for pushchairs, etc. The kids loved finding all the fairy fron doors and knocking to see if anyone was in. We decided they must all be on holiday together or at a party!
There is a small car park at the entrance and which is free to park. There are maps showing walking routes through the woods.
2 small problems- no toilets. Also as we approached the exit be careful as there is no barrier to stop the children leaving the woods and going into the road. It could be dangerous.
Overall a lovely few hours walking and spending time with the children.
