Beautiful views
Whatever the weather no visit to this pretty, charming town is complete without a walk along the harbour to enjoy the lovely views and the sea in all its moods from tranquil to stormy. Enjoyable without a doubt on a sunny day under a blue sky but if you venture out at dusk there is more to see in addition to the boats in the harbour. On a recent walk, when we were by the lighthouse, we saw two bats flying around, darting here and there as they had their supper. We had a great opportunity for a photograph as the reflections of the lights and pastel colours of the buildings on the front were so picturesque. The tide was low and as we walked towards the town we saw a heron hunting in the shallow waters, which was an unexpected surprise.

Very picturesque
Great for a walk to the lighthouse. Parking beyond the harbour in a culture de sac. Lovely place to eat opposite at Pier 36. Worth a trip

Start of walk
VEry nice place to start my walk around the town. Would imagine that it would be very blustery from time to time. The lighthouse itself was locked, however you can walk up to it and around the area. HArbour itself was quiet today and thankfully the lifeboat was in place.

A lovely walk in any weather...
Parking can be an issue when the sun is out... but the walk along the bay to the harbour is second to none... then drop into the cabin for a proper ice cream - no posh flavours... with sauce at a price that will not break the bank...

Rennies Harbour
This beautiful harbour built 1821-1836 by John Rennie must be most photographed harbour in Ireland. Great restruants close by.

Beautiful views of Scotland and the Isle of Man on a clear day
Wonderful place to be - beautiful scenery and an interesting history. May even see seals in the harbour too.
