Clontarf Castle Hotel

Built around a castle from the 19 century, this hotel has a very rich history. In fact, there has been a castle on those grounds since the 12th century! The lobby, the bar and the restaurant are extremely cozy. Around Christmas times, with all the Christmas trees and decorations, the place is simply marvelous and incredibly appealing. Rooms are nice, but they show a little bit their age. Overall, I highly recommend that place which is located about 15 minutes by car from the center of Dublin.

Stayed here recently for 2 nights for a wedding. Blown away on arrival by the Christmas lights, inside and out. The staff, food and ambience was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay here again

Had a 3 night stay here and couldn't really fault it. Reception were brilliant, really helpful at all times, able to answer all our questions and assist us with taxis, questions about the area etc. All the staff were friendly, accomodating and professional. Loved our room, loved the quirky wallpaper. Massive, comfortable bed. Everything you need in the room. The castle itself is stunning, loved the art, lots to see and explore just within the castle hotel itself. Good food and drinks. Constructive criticism... breakfast waiting staff can be over zealous at times trying to clear plates and glasses off your table whilst you are trying to enjoy your breakfast. On one occasion we had at least 4 times staff disturbed us to try and clear plates and glasses, including glasses that still had juice in, that we were still using! But we are being picky, that's the only real area we can criticize. Fantastic visit, many thanks ???????? …

We recently stayed in Clontarf Castle to meet up with relatives who had travelled from San Francisco. The hotel was very nice and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very helpful at all times. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was delicious - Michelin star standard!!

We stayed at this castle our last night before leaving Ireland. A smaller castle with great staff and a convenient location close to the water. The food was very good. We would definitely stay there again.
