Great venue, tiny screen

Fantastic venue but let down by the tiny viewing screen in the theatre. Went to see William Shatner which included a Star Trek film before a Q&A with Captain Kirk, but the screen was tiny and the sound was poor. A venue like this needs to invest in an IMAX type entertainment system to justify the cost of the ticket.

A Theatre experience

The location is wonderful as lots of good restaurants around it for a pre theatre meal. This theatre has amazingly good acoustics, and no matter where you are sitting you have total view of the stage. And more often than not superb shows. The large stage lending itself to productions of world renowned shows

Sweet munchers ruined this performance

Went to see Blood Brothers last night (26th Feb) at BGET but it was ruined by the presence of about 200 school children who managed to eat their way through the entire 1st half of the performance. Its a pity people who were booking tickets could not have some kind of health warning when large groups of school children are block booking seats as I would not have gone that night if I had known.
The situation is exacerbated by the fact that the theatre compounds the problem by active promoting and selling sweets with wrappers at the interval. What a shame a wonderful performance by Rebecca Storm et al was ruined by this.
In fairness though the ushers did try to control the problem at the interval and managed to reduce the noise levels somewhat.
