Great quiet beach ????

Great place to bring dogs for a walk if they aren’t great around other dogs ???? I went swimming in May of 2018 and it was gorgeous wasn’t too cold but a few sharp stones in the water so watch where your walking ???? Highly recommend everyone to visit sometime ‼️

Family trip to Kerry beach

Went to beach in Ballyheigue for our first visit. It’s one of the most spectacular beaches I’ve ever been to with long white strand, dunes, rocky stacks in sea and a mountain background. Water was really good, warm enough and lots of good waves. We had a very enjoyable dip and a stroll afterwards.

Beautiful views

Ballyheighue beach is a slice of heaven on Earth.
Depending on the time of year you visit, along with the tides & time of day, there are fresh breezes and sparkling waters.
The walk along the strand is peaceful and relaxing. There are plenty of ’hidden’ sand dunes for children to play and the waves are generally a reasonable size - with lifeguards on duty during the summer months.
It is about a 20 minute drive from Tralee.

Gently sloping beaches and wonderful locals

Ballyheigue strand is a blue flagged beach with seven miles of lovely soft sand. There is a lifeguard on duty in the summer. The beach is ovelooked by the village with its many lovely pubs and several really handy shops for all of your picnic needs. Ice creams are super handy and there is a super little children’s [lay area next to the beach too.
Track in the tides, then you will have even more wonderful sand to explore. The very gentle shelving shore means its a super great place to paddle and swim. If you continue walking around the end of the beach you get to Banna Beach. Ballyheigue is a wonderfully friendly place.

Wonderful Place to visit

February 2017. Whilst visiting family near Ballyheigue Co Kerry. My partner and I took a stroll onto the strand at Ballyheigue. Oh is very lovely strand.... One side sandy and the other Rocky - best of both worlds. We wandered along hand in hand and took our time. The tide was going out and it was a wonderful spring day. There was a wonderful sense of calmness as we walked along as there was hardly anyone else on the beach. Its very clean except for a few bits and pieces washed up. Overall its a lovely place to visit and have a wander. It has a life guard during busier times as I noticed the hut. Also I do believe it has had an award for "clean and safe beach" Look around a see the lovely Ballyheigue castle. The little town is very quiet and offers some nice little shops.

Top beach of the World

This has to be one of the best beaches in the world taking about an hour or more to walk from one end to the other and back. At the end of the beach opposite the town is a mini island called black rock. All along the way is sand dunes and a rock pebble strip and great surf. Out in the water you can see mini islands and beyond them you can see the maherees islands which were inhabited until about half a century ago and on the waters horizon you can see mount Brandon Irelands second highest mountain

Breathtaking & Beautiful

The entire Strand was our view and exercise walk twice a day for two days. About a mile/1.6 km crescent beach with beautiful sand and colorful smooth rocks pushed up against the dunes. Incredible views of the Dingle Peninsula. Popular with walkers, dog owners, swimmers and body boarders. Guarded beach even in September.
